Second Sunday After Epiphany 2022

God has given us in the blessed virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, a picture of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church whose joy is to be with Christ, to pray for all men and to accept with child-like trust and confidence that God will always do what is best for us.

1.We find our joy in simply being with Jesus Christ
a. Joseph and Mary for 30 years of ordinary time
b. God-With-Us in Word and Sacrament, fellow believers

2.Mary teaches us to notice human need and bring it to the Lord
a.“They have no wine!”
b.A famine of God’s Word and the fruit of the Holy Spirit

3.We urge all mankind to trust God and His Word
a.“Do whatever He tells you!”
b.“The entirety of Your Word is truth, and everyone of Your righteous judgments endures forever (Psalm 119:160).
