Outsider, at the Center of Grace

In this sermon text, there’s a casual meeting at the well . . . and a woman who wanted to talk about religion! Jesus was good with that. He met her where she was and they chatted about life, water, the temple and worship, Jews and Samaritans. . . and about change. Jesus said “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23-24) Then, as now, Jesus knocks down the barriers to communion with Him and invites us all to fill our souls with Living Water—a fountain springing up to eternal life.
