Give Thanks to God for Giving Us What We Do NOT Deserve!

In man's law, we are comfortable watching someone get what they deserve—be it punishment, wages, recognition, or other earthly measure. In God's law, getting what we deserve is pretty clear. . . we are all sinners and cannot earn salvation. Thankfully, our Savior Jesus, steps in and with the Gospel message to us what we don't deserve—Grace through Christ's action and sacrifice—and the promise of eternal life with Him. In this message, Pastor Gray dips into the Old Testament lesson in Jeremiah to examine the prophet's wisdom and warnings to the people of Judah; through the Epistle lesson in Romans with its emphasis on love, honor, and a reminder to overcome evil with good; and continuing to the Gospel lesson where we are reminded to take up our cross and follow Christ. It all ties together through the blessing of receiving His grace and forgiveness through our Savior, Jesus. We do not deserve this blessing of eternal life with Him, but we receive it with praise and thanksgiving.
