18th Sunday of Pentecost

Upon realizing the futility of following earthly, demonic wisdom, we will cry out to God with all our hearts for the one thing needful, found in Jesus the Anointed One who became for us wisdom from God. 

1. Earthly wisdom derives from demonic and destructive powers

a. It produces bitter jealousy and selfish ambition 

b. There will be disorder and every vile practice 

2. The wisdom that comes down, just as the Word became flesh

a. Greater than Solomon, God has visited His people 

b. Purity, gentleness, humility, peaceful, like a little child 

3. A harvest of peace that has God’s approval

a. Lamb of God, have mercy, grant us Your peace 

b. Wise peacemakers quietly sowing seeds of truth and love
