Third Sunday in Lent 2022

Contrary to what natural religion and human reason might conclude, Jesus makes it abundantly clear that no person can deny or escape the universal need of turning to God and changing the way we think and act.

1. Natural religion and human reason judge by outward appearances
a. Natural religion sees only cause and effect
b. Human reason demands that catastrophe = crime

2. God warns against making comparisons
a. Do you think they were more sinful?
b. Grant me to see my own errors and not judge my neighbor

3. God offers everyone the opportunity to turn to Him and live
a. Unless you all turn to God, then you too will all die
b. “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked.”
