Sixth Sunday in Epiphany

Unlike most modern pharmaceutical medicines that only treat or cover up symptoms of

disease, Jesus offers true healing, redemption, and reconciliation by treating the root cause

of sin in His perfect sacrifice on the Cross.

1. We live in a world that ignores root causes at all costs

a. Most proposed solutions are satisfied with treating symptoms

b. Our great temptation to turn Good News into Law

2. We live in a Kingdom of grace that gets to the root cause of sin

a. Jesus destroys the power of sin and death

b. Jesus demolishes the works of the evil one

3. We live in a Church made holy by mutual love and forgiveness

a. The absolute necessity of forgiveness

b. A foretaste of the Feast to come
