Last Sunday of the Church Year

The repentant thief’s encounter with Jesus teaches us the biblical way to think of and

prepare for the last things of death, judgment, and eternity.

1. Jesus, remember me at the hour of death

a. For many, death is a terrifying thing

b. For the child of God, death has lost its sting

2. Jesus, remember me on the Day of Judgment

a. Those who were foolish took their lamps but took no oil with them.

b. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection

3. Jesus, remember me when time shall be no more

a. Deliver us from the fire prepared for the devil and his angels

b. He who overcomes shall inherit all things
