The Assurance of Easter Deals with Our Fear
Apr 5, 2026 • Pastor Daniel Gray
The women who went to the tomb at nearly dawn on that Easter morning were filled with sadness. Jesus had died and they were feeling lost. When they felt the earthquake and saw the Angel, they were afraid. They heard the news the Angel proclaimed and joy was added to their fear. They met Jesus on the road, and assurance was added to their joy.
That’s the thing about Easter—the assurance of Easter, the resurrection of Christ, transforms our fears, by grace, through faith. The Angel’s words point us back to Jesus’ words and promises: “He is not here, for He is risen, as He said.” (Matthew 28:6a)
Rejoice, He is Risen. He is Risen Indeed, Alleluia!
